Hayman Fire Impacts* The Hayman Fire near Denver, CO (fig. 1), was the largest in Colorado history. First reported on June 8, 2002, the fire did not stop its destructive march until 20 days later. Fuel conditions, coupled with dry and windy weather, produced the ideal wildland fire medium.
