British author Anne Fine scores with a Whitbread Award, the Carnegie Medal and now a Hollywood feature
Earlier this month British author Anne Fine added to her impressive list of prizes by winning the Whitbread Children's Novel award for Flour Babies, a book that had earlier won her the prestigious Carnegie Medal for the second time. It looks as though it's Fine's year, a year that also sees the premiere of a full-length film of one of her books, which should introduce her work to a far wider audience.
