The Washington Wizards placed shooting guard Richard Hamilton (partially torn right groin) on the injured list today and activated guard Courtney Alexander, who spent the past six games on the injured list with a bruised left shin and sprained left ankle. Hamilton, who suffered the injury in the first quarter of last Friday's victory over the Orlando Magic, must miss the next five games and will be eligible to be activated Jan. 8, when the Wizards face the Los Angeles Clippers at MCI Center.
