The Handel & Haydn Society's Chamber Series has come in from the cold. Founded in 1986 by Christopher Hogwood and Jeffrey Rink, the series was designed to give extra work to the musicians of the Handel & Haydn Society's orchestra and chorus and to present audiences with a repertory they might not otherwise get to hear. At first, the concerts were part of an architectural tour. Each concert took place in a different church, and the music was preceded by a lecture about the building.
