The surface coatings industry has an excellent record in good health and safety practice. But there is always room for improvement through a continuous programme of training and updating for staff across all occupations and in all parts of the industry. The Health & Safety At Work Act also requires companies to train staff effectively in health & safety matters, and the Management of Health & Safety At Work Regulations require companies to carry out risk assessments. The Woolf Reforms require documentation of training in Health and Safety.
