The partners in H & L Builders are working at home and abroad.
For the past ten years, Wayne Hammond has organized groups of people once or twice a year to travel to Morelia in central Mexico to build churches and an orphanage. For four years, Louis Lavender has joined him.
''They're really devastated down there. The economy is really hurting. It's bad on those people so they're really having a hard time,'' said Louis Lavender, the L in H & L Builders.
The volunteer workers buy their own materials and stay for a couple of weeks, he said.
