The Handel & Haydn Society has cheerfully recovered from the unhappy events of last year, when an autographed "Cheers" script was stolen from their annual fund-raising gala.

The annual dinner dance and auction returned to the Four Seasons Hotel Saturday night, with more guests and more auction items than ever before.

"I think the memory of the gala stayed in people's minds because of the publicity," said co-chairwoman Kathy Schieffelin.

Last year, Schieffelin had placed the high bid on the script before it was stolen from the silent auction table.
