Free agent Adrian Griffin signed a two-year deal worth approximately $1.2 million with Dallas yesterday. The move from Boston was expected after the Celtics used their two lottery picks to draft swingmen Joe Johnson and Kedrick Brown, covering the positions played by Griffin. From the outset of the free agent signing period, it was clear Griffin was not high on the Boston priority list. Griffin likely will play backup shooting guard and small forward with the Mavericks.
