The South Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, along with other area development boards, will get nearly $1.6 million in grants to help unemployed people find jobs or develop job skills. The grants, announced Tuesday by Gov. Jim Doyle and Department of Workforce Development Secretary Roberta Gassman, include $298,852 to augment an existing grant to the South Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board to continue services to former workers of several area companies, including Johnson Controls, Lands' End, Perry Judd, Rayovac, Demco Media, LA Darling, Morning Star Foods and Royster...
