Founder of Glander Ornamental Metal died Feb. 22, 1998 at the age of 97 at Lasata Nursing Home in Cedarburg. He was born in Schievelbein in Pomerania. At the age of three, his parents, August and Hedwig Hintz Glander, who predeceased him, moved to Stendal near Berlin, Germany where he went to school and apprenticed under a master iron worker. He came to America at the age of 20 in 1921, being sponsored by his Aunt and Uncle, to West Bend, WI. He was employed at the White House Milk Condensery and immediately applied for Citizenship.
