Suppose you had to decide whether to give your child an orange or a bag of Doritos for a snack. On one hand, the navel orange is healthier: It has vitamin C, fiber, folate and potassium, and it's fat-free and contains just 81 calories. Plus it tastes sweet. But, you'll probably have to peel the 33-cent orange for your child and get a napkin to catch the droplets. It's probably best for your child to eat at the table.
