Bush lent his support to the effort to ban discrimination based on new technologies of genetic testing. That's good news, especially for Jewish women's groups, which have made the issue a top priority because of mounting scientific evidence showing that some genetic mutations that can predispose individuals to disease have a particularly high frequency among Ashkenazi Jews.
