Gladys E. (Williamson) Anderson of Weymouth believed in taking matters into her own hands. When her children needed clothes, she made them, and when her husband wasn't around to help a customer at the family's chicken business, she did the plucking. A daughter, Marilyn Scroth of North Attleborough, described her as "a courageous, talented and independent-minded woman." Mrs. Anderson, a retired tile inspector for Armstrong Cork in Braintree, died Jan. 26 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Attleboro. She was 100.
