Joined by visiting Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra of Thailand, President Bush called recently for the immediate release of Aung San Suu Kyi, a courageous champion of democracy and freedom in Myanmar, also know by its former name, Burma. But it will take more than feeble protests to get the attention of the generals who run Burma. What's needed are sharp words and sharper actions.
