The Army Contracting Agency-Southern Region (ACA-SR) Fort Gordon, GA, Directorate of Contracting (DOC) has entered into a contractual agreement with Augusta, GA, for water and wastewater services, under the authority of Public Law No. 108-375, Section 325, Pilot Program for Purchase of Certain Municipal Services for Army Installations. Under this public law, the Army will be able to close its water and wastewater treatment plants, thereby negating the requirement for expensive capital improvements and personnel costs associated with running these plants in the future.
