Henry John Fowler Sr., 79, a former Maryland legislator who had been treasurer of Pargas Corp. in Waldorf from 1948 until he retired in 1973, died of Alzheimer's disease July 23 at St. Mary's Nursing Center in Leonardtown. Mr. Fowler, a Democrat from St. Mary's County, served in the House of Delegates from 1950 to 1954 and again from 1958 to 1963. He served a one-year interim appointment in the state Senate from 1963 to 1964, then returned to the House of Delegates where he served until he was defeated for reelection in 1970.
