The article (BDN, Dec. 28) about the rezoning of several parcels of land from their previous designations to "Resource Protection" also contained a statement by the city engineer that this action by the city results in "no change" in the status of those land parcels, "because there was already an existing law," which required the zone changes.
He is legally and technically correct. However, it is not, in my view, completely accurate to draw the conclusion that this does not impose any new restrictions on the landowners. It most certainly does. The affected parcels were mostly designated as "A...
