Tomorrow is Mother's Day - a day to celebrate those who not only brought us into the world but who so often have sacrificed much for us.

Motherhood - as warm and fuzzy as it sounds - is not always an easy path. In today's world, mothers often must make career choices. Such decisions are never easy, especially during harsh economic times.

We also know that, statistically speaking, 57 percent of single- parent families - most of which are headed by women - live in poverty.

We note these issues as a way of talking about the unique hardships faced by one wife and mother.
