The labor dispute between the Fleming Companies Inc. and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters took a new turn Tuesday when the company announced it has hired 4,000 employees to replace those who have walked off the job since June. Fleming was hit with a strike by four locals in northern California June 9 when contract talks reached a stalemate. That strike since has spread to locals in Portland, Ore. and Philadelphia.
