"Fisher Annuity Index" publisher Danny Fisher says that marketers of fixed annuities increasingly are offering "true" bonuses after going though a period when bonuses were awarded only after the client held the policy for a minimum number of years. True bonuses award the holder a bonus after the policy is held only one year. Other trends in the fixed annuity business include shorter surrender penalty periods and provisions allowing the monthly withdrawal of interest.
