THE HSE was warned about overcrowding and deficient radiology servicesat Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda by a top doctor over seven yearsago, according to a shocking new letter.
The letter, which outlined a series of flaws within the hospital, was sent froma senior consultant to the Acting General Manager of the Louth-Meath HospitalGroup for the North Eastern Health Board (NEHB) on November 27, 2001.
It warned the NEHB, now the HSE North East, that staff were under intolerablestress at the hospital which could cause harm to the patients.
