EDITOR'S NOTE: A heavy rainstorm hit Eastern Massachusetts on Thanksgiving Day, 1945 and 41 high school games were postponed to the weekend. However, six games were played in the North Weekly area under horrible conditions on rain-swept fields that featured several inches of mud. The rest of the games were played Saturday and Sunday. THANKSGIVING DAY Amesbury 25, Newburyport 6 At Newburyport, Amesbury back Noel Gosselin scored two touchdowns on runs of 37 and 14 yards and threw scoring passes of 5 and 25 yards to Walter Stefanski.
