"I will show you fear in a handful of dust," T.S. Eliot wrote in "The Waste Land" in 1922. He could have been describing the Congress today. A handful of anthrax particles sent through the mail to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) has sent Capitol Hill into an orbit of jitters and confusion and set off a civil war (luckily only of words) between the House and Senate. On Tuesday afternoon, Daschle set off alarm bells by calling the bacteria in his mail "potent."
