Although ceiling fans did little to cool the heated romance in the film classic "Casablanca," the balmy breezes did allow the movie's stars to wear fashionable white linen without breaking a sweat. That remains a good reason for buying a ceiling fan today, in addition to the more mundane motivation of saving on your electric bill.
But when it comes to styles, the antique brass and wood of '40s movie fame is "Gone With The Wind," according to local experts, having been replaced by less formal finishes.
