In four simple paragraphs, the plaque that will hang inside John Hersey High sums up the life of graduate Paul Syverson, listing awards and achievements claimed by the man who will become the first inductee to the alumni wall of fame.
It's the sentence at the end that really gets to the heart of the matter, though - the one that tells how Syverson, a decorated Green Beret killed in Iraq, made the "ultimate sacrifice."
