Los Angeles -- The two most surprising hit movies of 2004 -- Michael Moore's Bush-bashing documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" and Mel Gibson's religious epic "The Passion of the Christ" -- offer an intriguing opportunity to examine the polarities among moviegoing Americans.
