Ask what sorts of photographic images fall within the "photojournalism" category and more likely than not, the response will be "sports, racing, auto accidents, plane crashes, fires, hurricanes and tornados, murders ..." Fair enough; images in these categories, if they are genuine and not contrived for the purpose of producing "prizewinning photographs," are indeed photojournalism images.
