Byline: Susan Feyder; Staff Writer The 12-month transformation of the Farmers & Mechanics Bank building into a Westin hotel is drawing to a close, with only a few finishing touches left before the hotel is scheduled to open Thursday. Major construction work by Ryan Companies on the downtown Minneapolis landmark cost about $34 million, and was finished this month, said Collin Barr, president for Ryan's Minnesota region.
