SWEETENERS Tate & Lyle PLC's product sucralose has received the backing of the European Commission's Scientific Committee on Food (SCF). Sucralose has a sweetness potency of around 600 to 650 times that of sucrose, and is the only zero-calorie sweetener derived from sugar.
