As a special favor to his mother, Private First Class Eric Leverone agreed to smile in his military portrait. Since he's supposed to be a tough guy, Leverone, 22, of Burlington, got a bit of razzing from the other soldiers over his wide, boyish grin. "He told them it was his mother's only Christmas wish," laughed Pat Leverone, describing the photos taken shortly before her son left Fort Bragg in North Carolina and headed to Kuwait, and possibly Iraq, with the 82d Airborne's 313 Military Intelligence Battalion.
