In the heyday of managed care, hospitals and attending physicians often aligned themselves into physician-hospital organizations (PHOs) to negotiate with the HMOs. Valley Health in Winchester is organizing another such organization, but it won't have anything to do with HMOs. The VH Physician Enterprise will be managed by local physicians for local physicians.
