A study was conducted on the relationship between energy usage and economic activity in China. Tests focusing on income elasticity were done by applying grouped, province-level cross-section data. The tests also integrated factors which show the impact of energy consumption on economic development and price levels. Results show that China may not adopt greater energy-focused policies for the 1990s.
