Elements, idols up next for Ballet

The Milwaukee Ballet leaves those classical tutus at home when it dances at the Pabst Theater each year.

The stage is a little small at the Pabst and so is the house, and the tiny pit rules out an orchestra.

The ballet has made an asset of these limitations by staging work that is more intimate, more modern and in some respects more daring than its concerts at the Marcus Center's Uihlein Hall.

Starting Thursday, the ballet will stage Alonzo King's searing "MAP," to music by Arvo Paert...
