MOST agricultural tractors (under 100 horsepower) built for the European market incorporate a synchronized transmission that reduces gear shift effort and increases durability. This type transmission consists of a main clutch, an optional dual power-shift assembly and the synchroshift transmission.
The dual power-shift option is available on certain four- and six-cylinder model tractors and provides the operator with the ability to shift down on-the-move within any of the eight forward and four reverse gears. This action results in 16 forward speeds and eight reverse speeds.
