The random-signal-generator algorithm generates a bandwidth-limited random signal with a normal distribution. Based on the central limit theorem, it needs minimal computation, and the bandwidth parameter that controls it does not affect the mean or the standard deviation of the random signal. It is an alternative to the common method of simulating a sequence of bandwidth-limited-noise samples by starting with a series of uncorrelated random numbers with a suitable distribution and passing the sequence through a filter.
