WE WILL NOT pretend to be detached about Edward Bennett Williams, who died on Saturday after a prolonged struggle with cancer. Mr. Williams was friend, counselor, merciless ragger, Dutch uncle and-on some high-stakes, high-drama occasions-courtroom defender of this paper.
