Leo A. Ebert, one of the early members of the Cudworth American Legion Post Band about 1920, died of natural causes Saturday at Woodland HealthCare Center in Brookfield. He was 95.

The band, with Ebert as a trombonist, won four national championships: 1929 in Louisville, 1930 in Boston, 1931 in Detroit and 1933 in Chicago.

In 1934, the band, by then sponsored by the Blatz American Legion Post, won an international band championship in Geneva, Switzerland, and played in Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany, and in France during a six-week tour.
