Surprisingly, the ESRB's "E" (short for "Everyone") rating does not mean that games are suitable for players of all ages. The "E" rating is given to games appropriate for players ages 6 and up. (The EC -- "Early Childhood" -- rating is placed on games that will bore anyone over the age of 3.)
Not all E-rated games are appropriate for youngsters, however, not because they are violent or pornographic, but because they are complex.
