In the Jan. 31 edition of The Post {"Marshall Had Harsh Words About Eisenhower, RFK," news story}, Thurgood Marshall is quoted as saying that Dwight D. Eisenhower was opposed to the 1954 Supreme Court ruling on school desegregation (Brown v. Board of Education) and had tried to convince Chief Justice Earl Warren to vote against it. On the other hand, Thurgood Marshall had nothing but praise for Lyndon Johnson. I admired Justice Marshall as a champion of equal rights and for his equally impressive record as a jurist.
