Alexandre Dumas, grandson of a French marquis and a black slave, is known as one of the world's most prolific writers. Dumas wrote his first historical novel, 'Acte', in 1838 and rendered prime periods of French history through several novels between 1844 and 1854. He created action and character uniquely and possessed a skill for dialogue.
