Your editorial "Vietnam Is Not Mexico" {Oct. 31} took issue with British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's claim that the United States has a double standard: on one hand, it protests the forced return of Vietnamese boat people from Hong Kong; on the other, it deports Mexicans and Haitians. Thatcher has a point about Haiti. The United States is engaging in an egregious violation of Haitian refugees' rights.
