NOT LONG AGO, I WENT TO THE CONVENTION of the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (www.naafa.org). As soon as my voluptuous friend and I sat down in the hotel lobby, a photographer from the New York Times wanted to take our picture. He circled us, snapping while we talked.
