Companies should have disaster recovery plans (DRP) for their accounting information systems because the availability of such information can affect their success. A study was conducted to determine the composition of private companies' DRPs for their accounting systems, and to explore the most effective means of communicating the importance of a DRP to management. The results suggest the need to improve the distribution of information of the advantages of DRP.
