"We're moving you to a bigger table," the server said as she and a co-worker scooped up our menus, water glasses and silverware. "We're going to put you up there in the jungle."
The "jungle" is a dense row of potted plants that, combined with some paintings and a couple of scattered posters, makes up the decor at Bandung Indonesian Restaurant on Madison's east side. Behind the plants on this night stood two regular-sized tables pushed together and set for four.
This would be the setting for one of the most exotic and flavorful meals I've eaten anywhere.
