Detroit-area distributor stays afloat thanks to group buying
FERNDALE, Mich. - Distributor Bob Bartlett, of Squire/Bartlett, thinks he would be out of business today were it not for his membership in a buying group which specializes in large-volume hvac pruchases.
"Without PASA (Purchase and Supply Association), I don't know if I'd be here today," he says.
By joining PASA in 1984, he participates in the group's expanded buying clout, which gives him prices up to 20% below what he would pay if he bought as a single distributor.
