GETTING THERE: Air Greenland has twice-weekly flights on Mondays and Thursdays from BWI to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. Fares range from $1,100 to $2,600 round trip. If you plan to base your trip in southern or eastern Greenland, Air Iceland flies to several locations in the summer from Reykjavik, Iceland. SAS Airways flies three times a week from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq.
