EXPOSING THE SECRET AND NOT-SO-SECRET COLLECTIONS OF FOUR DESIGNERS While an old dictionary defines fetish as a holy object endowed with magical powers or housing a spirit, a newer one allows a fetish to be pretty much anything-as long as it's loaded with sexual implications. And, of course, there is classic fetish, currently accepted as the aesthetic made infamous by the artist and photographer John Willie in his Bizarre magazine: the thigh-high lace-up leather boot with a six-inch stiletto heel or a black-andwhite maid's uniform, ideally in rubber.
