"They [family documentaries ] allow children to remember their relatives, to know what their hopes and dreams were," says Debbie Brodsky, who launched DMB Pictures, LLC (www.dmbpictures.com) in January to produce those "personal documentaries."
"It gives people a way to share their years of experience and a few words of wisdom with younger people."
Photos are great, she says, but to be able to see your relatives and hear them talk is invaluable.
