Dead or alive

As the British media were shouting themselves hoarse over the deaths of two white farmers in Zimbabwe in mid-April, 12 people (mostly students) were being shot dead in the Gambia by the security forces. And not a word was printed by the British media about it. As we went to press, Gambians were still anxiously waiting for the coroner's report into the killings that happened during a students demonstration against an earlier killing of one of their colleagues.
