Jeff Cunningham scored two second-half goals to help Real Salt Lake beat the host Chicago Fire, 3-1, last night. Cunningham opened the scoring in the 57th minute with a low shot, and Fire rookie Brian Plotkin tied it in the 62nd minute with a hard 35-yard shot that caught goalkeeper Scott Garlick off-guard. Salt Lake pulled ahead in the 67th minute when Chicago goalkeeper Zach Thornton deflected Cunningham's left-footed shot into the net for an own goal.
